Supplying artwork and designing your sign

It’s important to us that you are delighted with your new sign, so here’s a few tips to help us make the best of your existing artwork or designs.

  1. Bring originals. If you have them, the original large scale drawings or computerised artwork make reproducing your design much more straightforward.
  2. Big is definitely better. If you have an example of your logo on a business card and a letter head, the letter head will always be better because a larger example makes it easier to scan or copy your design. Even better, if you have a high quality A4 laser print we can get the best possible scan.
  3. Digital is best. Try to obtain an electronic copy of your logo, as scans and copies will never be as good as the original computer artwork.
  4. Lines and curves or dots? A computer image is always either a collection of lines, curves and shapes, or a big collection of dots. These lines are called vectors, and allow us to reproduce your design at any size. Images made up of dots can’t be enlarged too much without losing quality. Try to find out which version you have, and whether a vector-based version is available.
  5. Be flexible. If you’ve come up with your design already, we look forward to working with you to adapt it to the materials, shapes and sizes that are most effective for your chosen sign. If your artwork needs to be recreated, we’ll be happy to discuss your options.
